All Traditional HCS High Schools Recognized Among AP Honor Schools

HENRY COUNTY, GA – Georgia State School Superintendent Richard Woods recently recognized all 10 traditional high schools in Henry County Schools as AP Honor Schools in one or more categories.

This year’s AP Honor Schools are based on the 2025 results of College Board Advanced Placement courses and exams.

AP courses provide college-level learning in high school. Exams are scored from 1-5, with students who earn a score of 3 or higher often qualifying for college credit.

In the category of AP Access and Support Schools, students who identified as African American and/or Hispanic took at least 30% of the AP exams, with a minimum of 16 students. Additionally, 30% of all AP exams earned scores of 3 or higher, with a minimum of 25 exams administered.

Across the state, Woods named 316 AP Honor Schools this year from 110 districts.

“We are proud to see students are performing well on AP exams across student groups at all our high schools,” said HCS Superintendent Dr. John Pace III. “I commend our students, teachers and educators districtwide who are working hard and collaborating to foster a culture of academic excellence. We will continue to encourage more participation in advanced coursework, delivering on our mission to empower all students with exceptional opportunities and access that lead to success in a global society.”

“On behalf of the Board of Education, I congratulate our students, staff, families and community members who are contributing to continuing academic growth and achievement across Henry County Schools,” added Henry County Board of Education Chair Sophe Pope (Dist. 4). “This recognition of AP performance by each of our 10 traditional high schools reflects our vision to accelerate learning for all students.”
